Rohinton Mistry is an Indian-born Canadian writer known for his poignant, realistic, and often humorous novels and short stories that explore the lives of Indian Parsis, themes of family, poverty, discrimination, and the immigrant experience. Born in Mumbai, he moved to Canada in 1975, where he pursued a career in writing after initially working in banking and studying mathematics, economics, English, and philosophy.
