Tom Sharpe
Tom Sharpe (1928–2013) was a British satirical novelist known for his dark humor and farcical works. Born in London, he served in the Royal Marines before moving to South Africa in 1951, where he worked as a social worker and teacher. His experiences in South Africa, including his deportation for criticizing the apartheid regime, heavily influenced his early novels. He later returned to England to lecture at the Cambridge College of Arts and Technology, an experience that inspired his popular 'Wilt' series. He spent the latter part of his life in Llafranc, Spain.
