Jo Baker is a British novelist and writer, born in Lancashire, England. She is best known for her internationally bestselling novel 'Longbourn', which reimagines Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' from the perspective of the servants. She has authored several other novels, including 'A Country Road, A Tree', 'The Body Lies', and 'The Midnight News'. Baker was educated at Oxford University and Queen's University Belfast, where she completed a PhD on the Anglo-Irish novelist Elizabeth Bowen. She lives in Lancaster, England.
