Raven Leilani

Raven Leilani is an American writer and visual artist, best known for her critically acclaimed debut novel, Luster (2020). Born in the Bronx and raised in a family of artists, she studied painting, English, and psychology before pursuing an MFA at New York University. Her work often explores themes of race, class, gender, and intimacy with a sharp, distinctive voice.
