Anne Brontë was an English novelist and poet, known for her novels Agnes Grey (1847) and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1848). She was the youngest of the six children of Patrick Brontë and Maria Branwell. Her mother died when Anne was one year old, and her two eldest sisters also died young. Anne worked as a governess for several years, experiences that informed her writing. Her novels, particularly The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, have been recognized for their feminist themes and realistic portrayal of women's lives in the 19th century. She died at the age of 29 from tuberculosis.
