Cormac McCarthy
Cormac McCarthy (born Charles Joseph McCarthy Jr.) was an American novelist, playwright, and screenwriter known for his spare prose, bleak vision of human nature, and works spanning Southern Gothic, Western and post‑apocalyptic settings. His major novels include Blood Meridian, The Border Trilogy (beginning with All the Pretty Horses), No Country for Old Men, and The Road, the latter of which won the Pulitzer Prize. Several works were adapted for film, and he received the National Book Award and other major literary honors.
