Bethan Roberts

Bethan Roberts is a British novelist and radio dramatist born in Oxford and raised in Abingdon. Her first novel, The Pools, won a Jerwood/Arvon Young Writers' Award. Subsequent novels include The Good Plain Cook, My Policeman (later adapted as a motion picture), and Mother Island, which won a Jerwood/Fiction Uncovered Prize in 2015. She has written for BBC Radio 4, worked in television, and taught creative writing at institutions including the University of Chichester and Goldsmiths, University of London. She lives in Brighton with her family.
