Joanna Cole

Joanna Cole was an American author of children's books, best known as the creator of the "Magic School Bus" series. She wrote more than 250 books in total. Cole's work blended science and storytelling, making complex topics accessible and fun for young readers. Before her success with "The Magic School Bus," she worked as an elementary school teacher, librarian, and children's book editor. Her first book was "Cockroaches," published in 1971. Cole passed away in 2020 at the age of 75 from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
