David Macfarlane
David Macfarlane (born 1952 in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian journalist, playwright and novelist. He is the author of the family memoir The Danger Tree (published as Come From Away in the U.S.), the novel Summer Gone (shortlisted for the Giller Prize and winner of the Books in Canada/Chapters First Novel Award), and The Figures of Beauty. Macfarlane has written for publications including The Globe and Mail, Toronto Life and Maclean's, and has received multiple National Magazine Awards and a National Newspaper Award.
