Yann Martel

Yann Martel (born 25 June 1963) is a Spanish-born Canadian novelist best known for Life of Pi, which won the 2002 Man Booker Prize and was adapted into an Oscar-winning film. Martel has published short story collections and novels including Self, Beatrice and Virgil, and The High Mountains of Portugal. He writes in English, has lived in several countries during his youth, and resides in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
