Keiko Honda

Keiko Honda is a Japanese–Canadian scientist, writer, community organizer and painter. She holds a PhD in international community health from New York University and worked in research at Columbia University before a rare autoimmune disease left her using a wheelchair. After moving to Vancouver in 2009 she began hosting artist salons and was awarded the City of Vancouver’s Remarkable Women Award in 2014. Her memoir Hidden Flowers (2025) is illustrated with her watercolour paintings and explores motherhood, loss, disability, identity and community.
