Ami McKay (born 1968) is an American-Canadian novelist, playwright and radio documentarian. She is best known for her debut novel The Birth House (2006), a Canadian bestseller which won multiple Libris Awards and brought wide recognition. McKay's work often explores historical settings, women's lives, family history and the intersections of folk medicine and modern science. She has also written The Virgin Cure and other novels and produced award-winning radio documentaries.
