Stephen Hunter

Stephen Hunter (born March 25, 1946) is an American novelist, essayist and retired film critic. He is best known for his Bob Lee Swagger series of thrillers (beginning with Point of Impact) and for detailed, firearm-aware action/crime fiction. Hunter was the chief film critic for The Baltimore Sun and later The Washington Post, and won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Criticism. He has published more than twenty novels and several nonfiction books on film and American history and lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
