Gail Tsukiyama
Gail Tsukiyama is an American novelist born in San Francisco to a Chinese mother from Hong Kong and a Japanese father from Hawaii. She is known for her lyrical historical fiction, which often explores themes of cultural identity, family, and resilience, drawing on her own heritage. She has taught creative writing at San Francisco State University and is the Executive Director of the nonprofit WaterBridge Outreach: Books + Water.
