Alissa York

Alissa York (born 1970) is a Canadian novelist and short-story writer known for novels including Mercy, Effigy, Fauna and The Naturalist. Her short fiction collection Any Given Power won the Journey Prize; she has also received the Bronwen Wallace Award and the Writers' Trust Engel/Findley Award. Her work frequently explores relationships between humans and the natural world. She lives in Toronto and has taught creative writing.
