Harini Nagendra
Harini Nagendra is an Indian ecologist and a professor of sustainability at Azim Premji University in Bangalore, India. She is known for her research on forest conservation and urban sustainability, combining remote sensing, biodiversity studies, and institutional analysis. Nagendra also writes historical mystery novels, with her Bangalore Detectives Club series set in 1920s colonial Bangalore. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an honorary PhD from Utrecht University and the Cozzarelli Prize from the US National Academy of Sciences. She is also a well-known public speaker and writer on issues of nature and sustainability.
