P.D. James
Phyllis Dorothy James White, Baroness James of Holland Park, known professionally as P. D. James, was an English novelist and life peer. She was celebrated for her contributions to the mystery genre, particularly her detective novels featuring Commander Adam Dalgliesh. Her work is known for its intricate plots, realistic portrayal of crime, and exploration of psychological aspects of human nature. She worked in the National Health Service and the Home Office before becoming a full-time writer. She was awarded an OBE and created a life peer, Baroness James of Holland Park.
